my latest soap is soy milk and pink clay with sweet orange and lavender. it is rich and lovely, and now on the curing rack scenting our living room...



and here is our beautiful snake, 'montana' shedding her skin which she does every few months.

autumn weather in sydney

we've had a range of weather: gloriously fine for world youth day (with a million nuns praying...), and then this week is bitterly cold and wet. despite it all the blossom is coming with huge banks of jasmine and magnolia trees in marrickville.

lyrebird on the harbour

sunday saw the lyrebird blues band out on sydney harbour for a three hour tour. it was grand playing our favourite songs as we chugged on past the opera house and under the harbour bridge. an old balmain ferry was our boat with a friendly crew and assemble friends to enjoy the day. thanks to amby for the pics.

the bakery and the beast

rosie - first born and much beloved is in an awesome 11-piece band. they have an album launch at the basement in sydney tonight. it coincides with the visit of the pope so the city will be squashed with pilgrims and funky-punters of the bakery gig.

new printer and roast dinner

i've bought a new hp printer (photosmart) with 6 vivera colour cartridges which are archival. so i scanned in a little sketch and coloured it in photoshop then printed it on nice creamy watercolour paper. it looks nice. still slowly piecing together all the bits for the littlefootprint empire...
meanwhile i have a massive roast dinner in the oven. the air is cold outside and the aroma of chicken and loads of vegetables bubbling away is irresistible... then for those who eat carbs sticky date pudding. i should post the recipe sometime. with a pic... soon.
